I found these paper thin brass architect's/draftsman's stencils along with the rooms and plans set I just listed, but thought this a perfect stand alone alphabet so here it is. The "Z &" stencil is embossed "W. Cook, 67 Mt. Pleasant, Liverpool"-- who I've learned was William Cook, who seems to have been a notable stencil maker; I just turned up a large set of his auctioned through Christie's years ago. Anyway, I really love these, shining like gold and feeling ready to announce the arrival of the circus! Very useable still as stencils, but these would also be lovely framed as a set.
5 1/16 x 1 7/8 and in good antique condition, with a nice patina of age and use and some scattered stains, spots, minor bends, etc.
