I've always got an eye out for antique bone dominoes, but am fussy about the ones that I like, so was happy to find these near Albany, NY this weekend. This complete double six set of 28 domino meets all my criteria beautifully: irregular placement (and variation in size, too, of the black dots); lots of variation to the bone and also a bit to the size of the domino themselves; ebony wood backs; a good thickness of the bone layer in relation to the ebony; and nice brass center pins. This is a great set for playing with, and make very satisfying sounds when shuffled and knocked up against one another. So pretty, and a perfect gift, including to oneself.
Domino measure 1 5/8” x 3/4” x 5/16” each. Very good condition, with just a bit of loss to the face of the 5-0 tile, stable no and I don't think detracting. One of the ebony backs show a bit of color irregularity, I believe just indigenous to the wood.
