1930s Snapshot of Girl and Dog (at 9 Years) Mounted and Framed with Dog Tags

Regular price $65.00

Another find of the week all about a dog--and what a lot of love whoever made this had for their pup (a white Spitz?)--with this mounted photo, surround by annual dog tags, celebrating its ninth birthday! The brass dog tags tacked to the board mark each year of life, spanning Boston, Arlington MA, and the state of Maine.  The snapshot at center was captioned in ink, mostly worn off now, though "9 Years Old" is very clear--and clearly was not referring to the little girl (who might have felt a bit secondary to this beloved dog!) Also a little ink used to enhance the pup's eyes and harness. Pretty great, and I simply don't have it in me not to bring home something as singular and full of love and life as this.

9 5/8" x 8 1/8". Heavy for its size, seems like there is another sheet of heavy board sandwiched between cardboard front and brown paper back. Old water stain at lower right as evident.
