I quite like the idea of filling a notebook/ledger that began its life in the 19th century, which is what I would do with this pretty leather covered one, which is in good shape, sturdy, and ready to be used. I can't quite decipher the name written in ink on the inside of the leather cover flap or on the first inside page, but the date of August 18, 1881 is clear. Inside, I'd guess there are a hundred or so blank pages, along with a few remnants of some torn out pages and a few toward the end filled with some accounting.
6 3/4" x 4 3/8" x 7/8" and in good condition. Leather is in good shape with a nice patina and paper is not brittle.
