I had these listed as part of a set of four 19th century ladies legs calipers I purchased together, but perhaps no one needs a collection of four, so I've decided to list them individually. Made of steel, likely by a metalworker or machinist for their own use, these are the largest, 4 inches, and the one set stamped by their maker with the year of their making, 1873. I particularly like them opened all the way out and around again so that the knees knock and toes face. The pin on these is nice and tight, but pulling with a little force opens them up.
4 inches long and in good shape, with some rusting to the surface of the steel as evident, which I have not touched.
