I found this old bear in Pennsylvania, a folk art sewer tile end of day creation I believe, with terrific all over incising into the clay to evince fur, and my favorite detail the tail wrapped around one hind leg. Two little holes for the nostrils pressed into the underside of the snout, too. Really a sweet and singular one, with flat back that seems poised for carrying friends! Early 20th century I believe, with two marks or initials scratched into the undersides of the two front paws, and another at the center of the belly.
4 3/4" l x 2" w x 1 7/8" t. Very good condition, no chips or cracks or repairs. Better in hand, great presence.
