One of two old books with end paper drawings today, which I'll never stop hunting for, even if just building a collection for myself. Two great graphite drawings here, the work of an L.M. Willis who signed his name twice--one drawing on the front inside cover and one on the back. Of course I especially love the juxtaposition of these unholy looking characters, one drinking and one smoking (with great little hand pointing at him as if in admonishment) with "The Life of Christ," making this to my sensibilities an excellent found object as a whole, too. Book by Robert Mimpriss (great name), published by Donn & Mead, NY, 1870.
6" x 3 7/8", 100 pp. Good condition. A few stains and toning/spotting to around the drawings and general cover wear, book itself in good, clean condition.
