I'd been thinking about ancient Roman glass ungentarium (or "tear bottles") on the day that I came across this one--the former I am forever coveting, but quite precious. This small hand-blown glass vessel, Italian Murano I am more or less sure, scratched a bit of that itch, though--very very thin walled (truly light as a feather!), with a similar sort of form, and with those delicate "latticino" swirls yielding a pale blue that feels almost like ancient Roman iridescent glass! Maybe an ungentarium soon, but in the interim--or to place beside it--a lovely, luminous, delicate feeling thing.
3 5/8" t x 1 5/8" d. Excellent condition. Mid 20th c. would be my guess but I do not no for certain, no mark.
