Spare and lovely. The cut paper form, which I'd call a love token, with four scallop edges hearts each facing toward the center, was cut from an Iowa paper/flier dated Feb 23, 1876. Mounted to what looks to be to be a newer (clean and crisp) ribbed black mat, in an antique gold leaf over gesso wooden frame.
10 3/4" x 8 3/4" frame. Cut paper 4 1/4" x 4 1/2". All in very good condition, reads bright and crisp, with general wear around the edges of the frame. Newer backing, as found, wired on the back for hanging.
