I have a feeling this whimsy was made by a sailor--with the sharply pointed end rather like that of a fid. Whatever the case, an old one, and a beauty, which would quite hold its own on the wall, hanging from one nail.

5 3/16" x 13/16" x 13/16". Very good condition.
