I really love this naive little watercolor, most of all for its cheerful and unlikely use of color, animating the front of this cottage with blue horizontal stripes, and then orange stripes running the other direction at the side door, where a tiny figure stands inside looking as if waiting for a visitor. Great orange roof above, and black scalloped edge to the other one. And, rather surprisingly, a glowing orange street lamp too!
Sold in the lovely antique wooden frame with inlay that I found it in, behind glass. 6 1/16” x 4 3/4” framed. Sight: 4” x 2 11/16”. Scattered water stains, which I don't think detract one bit.
