Lovely Small Collection of Early Paper Rewards of Merit with Hand-coloring

Regular price $60.00

My love for antique rewards of merit is ever growing (and I've just order a used copy of the definitive book on them, by Patricia Fenn and Alfred P. Malpa)--but it is mostly ones from the earlier rather than the late 19th century that I'm interested in. I bought a larger lot of them at a show last week in order to get these lovelies, and this group of six seemed a nice small group to list as a set, I believe the right center and right lower one the latest, c. 1850s, and the largest three the oldest, c. 1820s. Verses on the back of three of them, too (as pictured.) I'm particularly partial to the center left reward for the exuberant and detailed watercoloring on it: polka dotted tulips!

Top left with border: 5 1/4" x 3 7/16". Below it, with watercolor flowers 3 7/8" x 2 3/8". All pictured included, and all in good condition.
