Geometric Perspective Drawings: Beautiful Mid 19th Century Notebook, 20 p, Full, Plus Extra

Regular price $200.00

This notebook was found inside a c. 1870s century hand-marbled-paper-covered folio filled with all sorts of things, including some loose drawings and an assortment of handwritten notes on everything from wax flower making to plaster casting. (A few of the loose pieces listed separately today.) Included here is the 20 page notebook and one additional related folio--all pages documented. There are a couple of surprise pages--a lovely watercolor rendering of a purple flower, and an ink wash rendering of a case and stand--but the vast majority are devoted to beautifully executed geometric perspective studies, in black ink, with some use of graphite here and there (for the shading of leafy trees, for example.)  I could look art these all day--such precision, making it feel as if there is perfect order to the world!

Notebook 10 1/2" x 8 5/8". 20 pages, including cover, filled on fronts of pages only. Plus loose folio, folded, filled on all sides. Toning to the cover drawing of notebook and a stain at lower left of that page, and a black ink wash stain to last page but otherwise beautiful, clean antique condition.
