My habit of opening old school books to check their endpages for drawings is a habit I think I will maintain until my dying day--and it will always hold a sense of excitement for me. Even more exciting to open one and find a full page drawing there! (And one could draw some conclusions from them too--in my experience, often the best are found in geography books, which seem particularly to have set young minds to imagine setting sail to distant lands and what one might find there.) This 1872 copy of Colton's Geography Primer is much worn, with a handful of hand-sewn stitches pretty much all that it still holding it together (making it pretty easy to extract these ship drawings on the inside of the back cover should one be so inclined!) Most of the pages inside are in pretty good condition though, including a good number of nice maps, as documented. For me though, it's all about these sailing ships!
7 3/4" x 5 7/8". 80 pg. Much worn as noted and documented, with hand-stitches helping to hold it together. Pages generally in pretty good shape, with tears here and there and one map (of the Eastern States) loose inside.
