Beautiful Antique Piecework Ball in Best Soft Palette

Regular price $125.00

I find these old homemade cloth balls just the loveliest things. Usually, one finds them sewn together of pieces of oil cloth, most often in two alternating colors. But here, the cloth is more like linen, and the color more as if hand-dyed, soft and radiant. And a most as beautiful a combination of three shades as could be. Perhaps the yellow, with shows a bit of a different texture, once had an oil cloth sort of surface that long ago wore away; whatever the case, it is just gorgeous now. There is a stain on the flip side of the one shown in first photo, one patch of wear to the  blue (sort of a blue-purple), and one reinforced seam, but such is the life of a toy ball 100+ years old!

4" in diameter. Overall good condition, tightly stuffed, round and even form, all seams holding tight. One area of staining, on patch of roughness to the bluem and one re-stitched seam, all as documented.
