Perhaps not everyone will appreciate the beauty of this, but I love an object that has had it life extended many times over, one repair after another layered on top of the last. Photos give a good sense here, including of the original fat dovetailed corners of this carrier, and its wonderfully shaped original high rising handle. Over time, pieces added to extend over splits, nails reinforcing older nails, metal strips extending across the bottom to keep it from falling through. And a warm dry patina to the wood, pine I believe, all over. I used it to carry a bunch of small things out of the Hudson River Valley shop where I found it, so would say it has a lot of life in it yet. Highly empathetic and also cuts quite a fine silhouette.
16 1/4" x 9 1/8" x 8" t. Much worn, much aged, much mended, all to the good in my opinion. Sound and fairly sturdy still.
