Definitely a curious one, I believe made of a piece of driftwood, in which someone saw a figure and decided to help it along a bit in fully emerging. The face looks to be a knot in the wood, into which two dots for eyes were carved, and then a bit more carving to give detail to an angel with halo, wings, clasped hands, and a "W" for feet at the other end. A small wonder! Either its maker or someone later glued it to a slab of green-gray slate; one could easily add a hook to the back in order to hang this angel like a watchful spirit on high if desired!
6" l x 3 1/8"w x 2" t and in very good condition. There is some glue showing underneath where the figure meets the slate.
