Definitely one of the loveliest pieces of miniature folk art furniture I've had, and quite an old one I believe, reminiscent of the iconic 17th c. American "Carver" chair and, at nearly a foot tall, with quite a presence even at tabletop scale. Found in southern Maine, I am sure New England in origin--lovingly constructed with mortise and tenon joinery, woven seat, and these wonderfully carved finials with tiny points at the ends. In old black paint, which was worn or perhaps scraped down on the right short side only. Really a beautiful one, with a terrific presence.
11 3/4" t x 5 9/16 w" x 4 1/4” d and in very good condition, sound and sturdy, with the weaving on the chair very tightly secure and hardened.
