West German Handthrown Mid-Century Signed Pottery Goblet with Harlequin Pattern

Regular price $50.00

This may just be the best goblet I have ever seen! I do wish I had a pair, though it is so distinctive and beautifully decorated I think I'd be more inclined to treat it as a design object than to drink out of it--I  might put it to use as a small planter, though, bringing a fantastic pop of color to the top of a dresser or bookshelf. It can also be turned upside down and used as a candleholder or a little vase!

The piece is hand-signed (incised) on the bottom West Germany '70, with some additional writing, numbers perhaps, that are unreadable.  I have not found another like it and really think it is quite a special piece.

It is in excellent condition and measures 6" tall x 3 3/8" in diameter; 2 3/4" across at base.
