Another lovely treen shoe, this one made not as a snuff box but perhaps as a pin cushion, though if so all traces of that are long gone...or maybe just as a love token of sorts, as there is a dedication on the sole, spelled out in pin pricked holes. I love the blue paint against the varnished wood, and of course all of those little nails giving pattern to the toe and sides, and especially the larger nails marching up the front, the tails of which one can see inside.
5 7/16” l x 1 5/8 w x 1 7/8” t and in very good condition. Late 19th c. I believe.
