Very Old Wooden "E" Box with Blue Paper Remnants and Fat Hand-forged Nails

A curious one, ideally suited for one whose first or last name starts with the letter "E", though I could also be convinced it's an "F"! In any case, it's a super old one, held together with these gorgeous, unevenly placed super fat hand-forged iron nails. I guess the brilliant blue bits of paper hanging on to the surface are remnants of some sort of label, or maybe wallpaper, that once covered it, though I'm not entirely sure how this shadow of a letter came to be.  In any event, great now for holding pencils or pens or paintbrushes, or maybe a few wooden spoons, and to me eye a pretty great looking thing. 

5 1/2" t x 3 1/2" w x 2 5/16" d and in very good structural condition, super solid and sturdy.
