This, and a second PA German catechism book listed next, are all about book as object for me--namely about the gorgeous hand-printed paper on the cover-boards, and, in the case of this one, about the ink lettering on the endpages. On this one the long edges of the pages were painted, too. I simply do not have it in me not at least temporarily take stewardship of books like this. The book was published in Reading PA in 1811, and the Daniel Boos who owned, born in the year 1800, inked his name inside at both ends, in 1815.
5 1/2" x 3 1/2". 105 pp. One cover detached, but aside from that in very good condition, with binding holding tight.
