This is the first example of anamorphic text I've had, though I will definitely be on the hunt for others. By viewing the text from an angle (holding it almost flat on its side), all those abstract lines form words. Here, it reads "Van Everens Visiting Cards" from one direction, and then "Central" from the short side, and then "Grand" and "Hotel" from the corner angles. (I did my best to photograph, but it's a bit easier in hand.) Analog magic, pretty cool. And I've been thinking of late about the (increasing lost) art of business card design after a recent instagram post by @illgiveyousomethingtodream about--which has made me want to start collecting interesting examples.
3 1/2" x 1 3/4". Good condition, light general wear and a bit of fading to the black ink (printed, not hand-inked), as documented.
