The Chiefs (#2), c. 1920s Snapshot Photo

This one, and a second listed separately of the same gang, seem made for the moment - what a bunch of bros! I would guess those are team jerseys of some sort, but interesting that the Chief is singular--more as if Chief were a function (like Life Guard, or Senator!) than a team; so perhaps we have here a assembly of Chiefs of various domains, and perhaps the slightly older man at center, who looks to be the dealer of the cards, is the Chief Chief! (This feels so much like a metaphor for our moment to me.)
