Scarce and Beautiful Standard Coosa Thatcher Co Dyed Cotton Thread Color Card

Regular price $125.00

A really great thread dye color card--though card seems an understatement, more like a portfolio, with a full spectrum of 160 colors represented. With a fat tassel of cotton thread for each shade, the name of the color printed next to it, and then a full list of the colors on the reverse sides with pricing category codes. This was produced by Standard Coosa Thatcher (SCT) Co., Chattanooga, Tennessee--a textile corporation founded in Piedmont, Alabama in 1891, publicly traded beginning in 1922, and significant for its endurance for nearly a century, with expansion throughout the Southeast and Western US. Its first mills were built in 1916, and in 2015 its remaining mills were added to the National Resister of Historic Places there. I believe this dates to the 1920s-40s.
