Based in the cigar box wood from which it was very lovingly constructed, I believe this little chest dates to the late 19th century, and I find it a complete charmer of a thing--with "Selection" arching across the top, terrific faceted form to the top compartment, which opens to reveal cloth hinges to either side of an ivy vine. Two drawers below with original wooden handles, and scalloped edges along the bottom. Feels Shaker meets tramp art to me, super sweet.
7 3/4" w x 4" d x 8" t and in good antique condition, drawers open easily and close tight and flush.
