This somehow feels to me like the Dolly Parton of 19th century pastel folk art still life drawings...peaches soft and sweet and all dolled up in this scalloped edge dish, but with darker mauve-ish ground lending a sense of depth and complexity, literal and metaphorical!. There is often a certain strangeness to these sorts of 19th c. pastel drawings that draws me, and this one has that quality.
Under glass in original period frame, 11 3/8" x 9 7/8" framed. The frame itself is notable--with paper label from Ross & Hatchman, Boston, still on it--known especially for their lemon gold frames. Drawing in good condition, with top edge of drawing visible, as it is slightly smaller than the frame and has scooted down a hair. I haven't touched it but one could back it with new piece of mat so that it would sit evenly in the frame with no exposed edge. Wired on the back for hanging.
