It's been a while since I had a burnt match stick creation, but this is a perfect one to break the lapse--a very satisfying and happily unfussy quilt-like grid formed byt many hundreds of them, laid down one by one onto a piece of wood. I'd really call it more of a panel to hang on the wall than a trivet, though it could certainly be used that way. More often than not, one finds these varnished, but I think much better not, with a lovely warm patina to the dry wood of the sticks.
A couple of minor losses. no matter I think.
