I purchased this charming, sexy little carving from a dealer in my neck of the woods, who found it and many other carvings at a sale in Newburyport, MA, done many years ago by an uncle of the owner. (Someone else had purchased the others, but I think left the best of all behind!) The carving was done in very low relief, then the ground and (what there is of a) garment were painted/stained green, and I find it just exactly right--super seductive in a perfectly unfussy way.
3 3/4" t x 1 7/8" w x 3/4" thick. Solid wood. There is some dirt/dust adhered to the surface that one can see when closely inspected, but overall very good condition, I might guess maybe 1950s or so but am not totally sure.
