Profile Carving of Handsome Owen Cranly by His Son Henry

Regular price $50.00

So handsome! And pretty heroic looking too, as if a study for a medal to be cast in bronze! Carved of pine, late 19th/early 20th century American I would think, by Henry, the son of the subject, who certainly appears to have been quite proud of his father, whose name, hand-written on the reverse, appears to have been Owen Cranly, or perhaps Granly. I especially love those great waves of hair, and special care taken with the ear.

7 7/8" t x 3 1/2" w x 1/2" d and in great condition, with a beautiful warm dry wood patina. There is a small string loop tied around a nail on the back for hanging.
