This one is a bit of a mystery to me, which is part of why I like it. I'd think that the iron "handle" at one end--with serrated edge around its flat, nearly round end--served a specific purpose....perhaps allowing a small vise or clamp of some sort to attach to it in order to do some sort of work? Or, maybe it was just a make do solution to making the stool easier to move from one place to another? I don't know (through would love to know, if you do!)--but I really like it, with its dry wood front punctuated with old fat nails, and one edge and the underside showing old chippy layers of white then grey paint. I'd probably use it as a sculptural pedestal for other things, but it seems to me it could also be turned around and used as a very primitive shelf!
19 1/4" long including "handle" x 7 5/8" w x 5 3/4" t. The wood shows a few splits and the painted underside is a little grungy, but I've stood on it, albeit briefly, and it supported my weight fine.
