I have a hard time not grabbing these old inlaid darning eggs when I find them; they're just so pretty, and great to hold, and a nice thing to collect, perfectly displayed in a big bowl filled with them. This one looks to me like a combination of walnut and pine, though I'm not the best identifying woods, and at the base is a small hole from, I assume, where it was turned.
3 3/4" l x approx 2 1/4" in diameter. Certainly used, with tiny dings and scratches and a small spot of stain on one side, which looks to me perhaps original to it.
