Parachuter Falling to Earth, Poignant Pair of Old Photos

I find these photographs so beautiful--individually and together. Pretty much nothing so existential as falling from the sky! And then so simply beautiful as a parachute opening to slow one's fall. Here the first photo captured just after the parachute has opened, and the second just after the parachuter has touched down, with a man running fast toward him from the bottom right corner.  Pure and perfect.

Each 4 7/8" x 3 7/8". Sold as a pair. Some visual noise captured in each image, and the second a bit softer in focus than the first, but both in good condition. Printed on paper, WW1 era I believe.
