A lovely pair of early Gibbs tin litho spinning tops; I pretty much never come across ones as nice as these, so optically satisfying with those bright stripes and yellow bottoms, and they are excellent spinners. They came with a wooden spring loading winder, which seems to click into place on top, but I haven't figured out how to make it work (there is a push button release but it seems to just stay in place, so I can't say for sure that it is in working condition. Not really sure why necessary though; a flick of the wrist will set these spinning just as well!
Tops measure 3" d x 3" t each and are in beautiful condition. There is a patent date of 1907 on the spring release and I believe these date to right around then.
