As you may know, I've been hunting interesting old finials of late, which this is not, but I find it satisfying in the same sort of way, including for the old red paint still clinging to it. Surely it was the head/tip of an old tool of some sort, but now without a handle it's just a good object to set somewhere, made of iron so nice and heavy, and with this very satisfying spiral.
5 7/8" t x 1 1/4" in diameter and indestructible.
