I've never seen another set of blocks quite like these, and they are my new favorites ever! (Of course I would love to have a huge lot of them, but there's also something just right about what's here, which I found in an old cardboard box at an antiques shop in Freeport, Maine. I find the colors exactly perfect, the proportions exactly right, and one each of the rectangular blocks are two square windows on one side and a window and a door on the other, allowing for building double and triple deckers--and they look to me like faces when turned on their sides. Of a nice substantial scale, with excellent aging to the paint. LOVE.
Rectangular blocks with windows: 3 1/4” x 3 1/4” x 1 5/8” ea. Set includes all pictured, including one little red chimney. 1940s maybe?
