Much Weathered Antique Carved Architectural Element with Turning Ball

Regular price $50.00

I spotted this hanging on the wall and just found it beautiful, with its old and very weathered wood, softened by the elements like driftwood, making it feel like quite a singular thing. The ball at center turns on its post, and shows some old pink-red paint, as does the reverse side of piece. I’m not sure what this was once a part of, but somehow it makes me think a bit of an old carousel, as if a horse might rise and fall on a post below it! With a recently added hook on the reverse for hanging.

15 5/16” l x5” t. Much weathered but generally sound and stable. The post holding the ball can move up and down and will come out, but it will hold in position, as will the ball. It may shed just a bit when handled; I would just hang it on the wall and leave it alone!
