Most Perfect Block Letters Alphabet Scarf with Polka Dot Border

Regular price $175.00

The dealer friend I purchased this from bought it years ago from Paula Rubenstein's shop in NYC; he paid a fair bit for it, and I did too, but it struck me as a completely perfect thing and I just couldn't walk away from it. (And I'll be glad to keep it for myself forever.) As a lover of letters, and alphabet blocks (and alphabet samplers, and antique spellers, and printed textiles, etc. etc.)--and polka dots, too!--for me it brings many things together and is just graphically super, and transcendent of period, too.  I am not entirely sure whether this was produced as printed fabric (yardage) which someone trimmed and stitched the edges of to make into a scarf/kerchief or whether it was made as a scarf to begin with; I can't find another like it out there. I'd get it in a simple frame or pin it straight to the wall by the top corners and never tire of looking at it.

11 9/16" x 11 1/8" and in good condition, with some light toning/staining to the white of the fabric mostly around the far edges, as evident. No holes or loose threads, reads crisp and bright. Pressed crisp as found, and I will ship it flat.
