Pure fun and great delight. Turn the wire handle on the side of the glass fronted box to watch all the celluloid mice run around in circles--two of them spinning on the turntable, one running forever to nowhere in the wheel at top, and the fourth climbing the wall/ramp at far right (a straight 90 degrees vertical) only to disappear over the top and then reemerge through the paper flap at the bottom. I should have made a video but was not coordinated enough (!) but it works perfectly, very smoothly, not a glitch--and one might just want to spend the whole day turning the crank and watching them run around! Lined on the exterior in pretty printed paper still bright and crisp, and stamped on the underside Made in Japan with a rooster logo and patent number--1930s or so, pretty scarce and from what I can see out there quickly scooped up when they become available.
4 1/4" t x 3" w x 2 7/16" d not including crank. All in very very good condition, just some light dust visible on the glass, more pronounced in photos than in hand, and I believe the wire crank handle may have had a bulb/bead at the end of it.
