So hard to pass by a sweet old stool, and this one, found in Maine, feels extra special for its diminutive scale--a perfect pedestal for carved whimsies or figures or other smallish things. It looks to me as though it was once painted as there is some creamy white paint on the heads of the old nails, but no other paint visible anywhere, just a great warm dry wood patina. 19th c. New England I believe.
10 1/4" x 4 1/2" x 5” t. Excellent antique condition, sturdy and sound.
