I always have an eye out for hand-drawn maps, but it is a rare and happy moment to find one as charming as this, with little ink drawing of a house, pointing hand, and a bit of watercolor embellishment too. One of three listed today by a surveyor William A. Jones in the late 19th century--this one showing a 100 acre plot surveyed in 1875 for an "Acy Leven Waller"as detailed at one end. Wonderfully done.
9 3/4" x 7 3/4" as shown in first photo, folded in half. Good condition, with old fold lines to the lined paper as evident, which shows an embossed mark at one corner.
