Lion, Tamer and Onlookers, Dramatic Old Real Photo Postcard

A wild feeling photograph in all senses, with this powerful lion looking on the verge of winning this fight and escaping its captivity. Based on the cage visible rear left, I presume a traveling menagerie or circus of some sort, and presume the shirtless man with back turned to the camera is the tamer of sorts.  A cruel practice indeed, but the specificity and close framing of this image seems quite extraordinary to me in capturing the danger of it for all involved in the most visceral, immediate way.  Rich tones, very striking.

5 3/8" x 3 3/8". Very good condition, with one mark on the mane of the lion that looks maybe more like a burn hole in the negative than on the surface.
