Two Linked Balls in Cage Carved Pine Whimsy

This is one of a a number of old pine carved whimsies I purchased together and believe were all made by one American carver, first half of the 20th century I believe. Skillfully done but chunky in form, with a great warm patina to the dry wood, and all carved from one piece of wood with no notable chips, cracks or splits.  Very nice.

6 7/8" long x 1 3/8" wide x 1" deep. Cages each measure about 3 1/8" t.
