1893 Whitehead and Hoag Fraternal Shaking Hands Pin Back Badge

I love how objects resonate in different ways at different times--I can't look at this antique Masonic badge at the moment without thinking about Kamala Harris using a handshake at the beginning of the first presidential debate to launch the process of disarming Donald Trump. But, more enduringly, a great and iconic symbol- of fraternal brotherhood specifically, and friendship more broadly, and I'd like to think gracious welcoming and mutual respect, too. 

2 7/8" x 1 1/4".  Celluloid front and embossed copper back. Made by the Whitehead and Hoag Co., Neward NJ, March 7, 1893. Good condition.
