JH Adaire, Ink and Crayon Rooster and Grouse (?) Drawing, 1905, Spring Grove PA

A few more today by a young J.H Adaire of Spring Grove, PA, dated 1905--I bought and sold a handful a month or two ago, then just went back to the seller to scoop up a handful more. Just my sort of naive and exuberant drawings, and I really really love the postures and the colors and patterning on these two, which I take for a rooster and a grouse--though perhaps the latter is a partridge, or? Whatever the case, I can very much imagine the one following the other around and around. Charming.

9" x 5 1/2". I mended some small tears around the edges with clear archival mending tape to the reverse. Stable now, with a bit of loss to upper left corner and evident, and a few scattered stains.
