A few more today by a young J.H Adaire of Spring Grove, PA, dated 1905--I bought and sold a handful a month or two ago, then just went back to the seller to scoop up a handful more. Just my sort of naive and exuberant drawings. This is a smaller one relative to the others, but what a bold peacock in bright scarlet! Great ink drawn detailing on the feathers under the read, and just the right fancy cursive lettering on the branch to suit the subject!
6" x 5 1/2". With another partial drawing of a few doves and scroll with date on reverse. I mended a few tears from that side with some archival tape thinking the peacock was the thing, but tape could be carefully removed (I am happy to do it, just let me know) if wishing to show both sides.
