This is one of three woodblock postcards I purchased from a seller in Japan--one of two wonderful monkeys from 1932. According to the Japanese zodiac, those born in the year of the monkey have magnetic personalities and are witty and intelligent as well as mischievous, curious, and clever, which can make them very naughty. This particular monkey does not look especially happy (though he may be on his way to doing something naughty), but what a fantastic image I think. And I believe it is a sheep--representing the prior year of the zodiac--that he is riding in on.
5 5/8" x 3 5/8", in very good condition.
