One of two antique heart shaped boxes today, as who can every have too many hearts, and it is always time for a valentine. I don't come across hand-carved heart shaped boxes like this very often, and when I do they are quite precious. I love the curvaceousness o this one, and the heart inside of heart inside of heart staining. This one came of of the personal collection of a New England dealer, from whom I also purchased the story of Witenose the Cat! A very sweet thing, later 19th c. I believe.
2 1/8" x 1 3/4" x 1 3/8". Light edge wear and a tiny loss to the far right edge of the bottom facing heart as documented.
