A lovely, honest and earnest--heartfelt, one might say!--old handmade box with hinged lid, juicy fat dovetail joints, and a relief carved heart at center. Hardwood, I believe the wood is walnut, but I'm terrible identifying woods. Not a fussy thing about it, but one has the sense it was very much a labor of love, and I'll always say yes to a box with a hand-carved heart!
9 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" t. Key long gone, so it does not lock. Very good condition, with just a tiny bit of space between the lid and and the lower half of the box at far left, as pictured, minor. Very solid and sturdy, brass hinge tightly attached and in good shape.
