H.A Brown Large Graphite Industrial Design Renderings - SOLD INDIVIDUALLY

Regular price $40.00

SOLD: A & C

I was very excited to find these yesterday, as well as a gorgeous set of ink and watercolor drawings (listed separately), all by (and each one signed) by an H.A Brown and done for different courses at MIT, c. 1920s.  A little research leads me to the believe, with quite a bit of confidence, that the H.A Brown who did them is none other than Harold Brown, a "titan of real estate in Boston for six decades" who, through his Hamilton Company, amassed more than $2.3 billion in residential and commercial real estate, primarily geared to working class families, students and medical professionals, described as "unswerving in his advocacy for moderate income housing." Brown grew up in Boston's Brookline neighborhood, attended Devotion School and then graduated from Brookline High School, earning a scholarship for drama to MIT where he graduated with a degree in metallurgical engineering. Brown died in 2019 at the age of 94.

These four, which blow up a screw and bolt, a hook, etc--were done in charcoal I believe, maybe some graphite too, on heavy weight tan paper, and I think are just super striking.  Each measures 18" x 12" and all are in excellent condition. SOLD INDIVIDUALLY - please indicate at checkout the letter of the one/s you would like.  Shipped flat.
